Install your Bungalow in the garden where plants often bloom. Be sure the nesting tunnels face east, so the morning sun will warm the nest. Install between 2-5 feet off of the ground so the bees can easily fly from the pollen source to the nesting tunnel.
After each use by a bee, the nesting tunnel must be cleaned. Simply remove the nest block from the frame and clean out the tunnel with a small file or bottle brush. If the debris is hard mud or resin you can also use a power drill with a long bit to scrap the tunnel walls clean. Shake out the debris so the tunnel is clean for another female bee.
